We are looking for actors/actresses who would be interested in auditioning for characters; DREW, KAREEM, and CARTER in the upcoming short film, “Blown Chances” directed by India Bey.
We are aiming to shoot from November 16th – 19th. We are asking for full-day availability.
Meals will be provided. Paid opportunity.
Please keep in mind that we will be holding rehearsals on November 10th. All filming will be done in the Philadelphia Area.
Story synopsis: Drew longs to cook in her corner store but is on thin ice with her boss, Carter. Her boss offers her one last chance to prove herself. If she can manage the store for one hour alone, Drew will be allowed to cook. Drew’s lack of focus and organization gets the best of her. Drew’s carelessness leads to an explosive intrusion. She must now grapple with the consequences of her actions.
Roles:
Drew: (Black Female, early 20s) Drew is charismatic and easygoing but is impatient in reaching her work goal as a chef. This combination causes her to make careless decisions.
Carter: (Black Male, mid-50s) Carter takes a lot of pride in his store. He is a type A person who wants Drew to do things the way he does things.
Kareem: (Male, age 16) Kareem is a goofball kid who is aimless in his ambition. He wants a lifestyle of luxury while stuck in poverty. This leads him to make impulsive decisions.
