Daddying Film Festival & Forum (D3F) Transforms Philly into “City of Fatherly Love” May 17-18
The 3rd annual Daddying Film Festival & Forum (D3F) the first and only festival focused exclusively on promoting the importance of positive Dad/Dad figure involvement for kids and families, will screen a world-class lineup of short and feature films powered by a universal and undeniable truth: involved dads matter to kids and families – in their presence and their absence. D3F’s virtual film festival takes place May 2-9, on Eventive. Day 1 of the live Daddying Film Forum will be at Philadelphia’s Parkway Central Library on Friday, May 17, from 4-8pm EDT. Day 2 will be at the iconic Mummers Museum on Saturday, May 18, from 10am – 3pm EDT. Food and drink will be available at both live events. In addition to showcasing D3F‘s virtual festival-winning films (TBA), Day 1 of the live Daddying Film Forum will be highlighted by a special screening of Daughters, the 2024 Sundance Film Festival’s Audience Award winner for best U.S. documentary and winner for Festival Favorite. Directed by Natalie Rae and Girls For A Change founder Angela Patton, Daughters follows the lives of four young girls preparing for the first-ever father/daughter dance in a Washington, DC, correctional facility. Patton will attend the 5/17 Forum, participate in a live Q&A, and be introduced to Forum attendees by her father. Forum Day 2 at the Mummers Museum will present live screenings of more D3F officially selected feature films and dad-created shorts (TBA).
D3F 2024 boasts 30+ short and feature films from students, Dads/Dad Figures, and indie filmmakers worldwide focused on the importance of positive father-child relationships. Since its inaugural year in 2022, D3F has received submissions from filmmakers in 26 countries. Here is the list of D3F 2024 Official Selections announced to date.
