CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
EFFY (EARLY-MID 20’S, BLACK, TRANSWOMAN) {2 SHOOT DAYS}
Effy is a depressed trans woman struggling with the recent suicide of her best friend Amara. She’s become consumed by this tragic event and hasn’t left Amara’s house in months. The guilt she feels from Amara’s death has left her feeling as if she needs to punish herself. She is anxious and awkward, but also angry at herself.
FATIMA (MID 20S-30S, BLACK, FEMALE) {2 SHOOT DAYS}
Fatima is a put-together black cis-woman, who is Amara’s estranged sister. After Amara began to transition, her family pushed her away, alongside Fatima. Underneath the surface, the guilt of abandoning her sister is eating away at her. Following Amara’s suicide, she ventures to her house to sort out her deceased sisters belongings. She struggles to hold her confident demeanor in the face of Amara’s memory.
