LOGLINE: Coming home after a year, a young college student faces an estranged cousin, overenthusiastic relatives, and her own self-worth issues as she struggles to make sense of adulthood.

LEADING ROLES:

[TARA] Female, early 20s. Cautious and sensitive, Tara is worried about seeing her family for the first time in a year. She’s unsure of her place in life, feeling second-best to her charming, successful cousin. Despite her resentment, though, she loves her cousin deeply and longs to return to the close relationship they had in childhood. (ALTO RANGE PREFERRED)

[ARDEN] Female, early 20s. Tara’s cousin – only one year older but already a consummate Adult. She’s intelligent and charming and radiates the kind of quiet confidence that tells you she could do anything. But underneath it all, Arden feels just as pressured and awkward – and she’s trying her best to reach out to Tara, the one person who might understand. (SOPRANO RANGE PREFERRED)

SUPPORTING ROLES:

[UNCLE GARY] Male, mid-50s. Arden’s father and Tara’s uncle. He is exuberant and emotional, sincerely over-the-moon to have both Arden and Tara home again.

[AUNT CATHY] Female, late 40s. Arden’s mother and Tara’s aunt. A force of excitability and pride, she’s ecstatic to see Tara again – but her personality can be overwhelming even when she means well.

[JUNE] Female, early 40s. Tara’s mother and Aunt Cathy’s sister. She is warm and quiet, the grounding force of the three relatives, but just as proud of Arden and Tara.
