Voices of Still Water is a Temple MFA student film. It tells the story of three siblings from Harlem who visit their grandmother in the South for a summer that ends up unearthing ancestral connections and reinvigoration powerful family bonds.

We are looking to cast a variety of roles.

Three African American characters who are 65 +, or younger with the ability to seem older, who can do a southern accent. The following characters’ story takes place in modern day.

Carolina- Born and raised in Florida and loves telling sentimental stories about her family history.

George- Carolina’s witty, and sometimes antagonistic, husband.

Mary- Also raised in the South and Carolina’s best friend.

The character of Big Mom’s story takes place in 1950.

Big Mom- The well respected matriarch of the family. She is both loving and strong and guides her family to a better understanding of themselves and each other.
