Event Details

The West Chester International Short Film Festival is returning for its 16th annual festival this year, after being postponed for the past 2 years due to the coronavirus pandemic. Spanning the course of 3 days (Friday, April 22, 2022, to Sunday, April 24, 2022), over 70 short films (of 30 minutes or less) from around the world will be played. From Oscar nominees to comedies, dramas to animated films, and more. Friday’s Opening Night party (from 5-7pm) will be followed by the first film block. Each block includes 7-9 films that span multiple genres, countries, and topics. Along with the main film blocks, there will be a series of Pop-Up Film Blocks that will be shown at various locations across the borough (Sci-Fi, Horror/Suspense, and Coffee & Cartoons). The weekend will also include a Family Film Festival, Young Filmmakers Film Festival, free Filmmaker Workshops (including the Art & Experimental Workshop), and a Filmmaker Meet & Greet. Topping it all off, on Sunday night we will end the weekend with the Closing Night Party where the award-winning films will be screened one last time, and the coveted ‘Chester Award’ will be given out. The main venue for the weekend is Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center, located at 226 North High Street, West Chester, PA 19380.
