Attention Non-Union Actors
Kathy Wickline Casting has teamed up with Temple University to conduct their 2022 Student Film Casting. First Submissions will be conducted digitally and call-backs will be virtual. We encourage all talent to participate in student film productions as it is an excellent opportunity to hone your craft, build your resume, and connect with future industry leaders and creatives.
RATE: Film makers will relay if paid or unpaid
SHOOT LOCATION: Local to Philadelphia
SHOOT DATES: TBD November- January

ROLES
CATEGORY #1) Six Male Roles (Ages 20-30): see below
Roman (20-25) LatinX Semi-athletic build with intermediate to advanced guitar skills. Obsessed with music, especially 80s pop / rock. Self- conscious, passionate and kind within. Roman neglects his team and career to chase his past lover, Selina.
Intern: (Early 20s) Any Ethnicity Walks on to talk to Jonathan (TV host) when he has his outburst.
Clyde (24 – 30) LatinX/ Caucasian Intimidating with dark eyes. Arrogance, aggression, and entitlement rooted in self hatred. From a basic guitarist to a ground level exec, Clyde resents Roman and wants Selina.
Den (25-30) Any Ethnicity Reese’s apathetic but chummy boss. Talkative but incredibly low energy on all other fronts. Cool uncle energy.
Mitch (21-25) Any Ethnicity Reese’s coworker. Socially awkward with a lack of ability to read situations. Blunt but earnest.
Freddie (20-30) Any Ethnicity The kind quiet clerk of the flower shop. He loves the flowers and the costumers that come in. He is very invested in everyone’s well-being, acting like a bartender to all the regulars.

Donald 1A (25-50) Any Ethnicity A sketchy looking regular costumer that often comes in, yet never buys anything. His dark, rough humor is often in contrast to Freddie’s light-hearted nature.
CATEGORY #2) Two Male Roles (Ages 20-30) – Plays Host: see below
Jonathan (20-30) White Host. Takes over when Vikki disappears. First time host. Always ecstatic to be on camera.
Man (30s) Any Ethnicity Replaces Jonathan. Permanent host by the TV executives. Underlining evil.
CATEGORY #2A) One Male Role (Age 18-21): see below
Anthony (18-21) White Carter’s classmate and the story’s antagonist. Insensitive, domineering, egotistical. Not one for compromise or diplomacy. Throws his weight around. Looks young
CATEGORY #3) Four Male Roles (Age 18-27): see below
Carter (18-21) African American A quiet and controlled young man. Lacking the tools he needs to communicate, he finds himself unable to truly express the pent-up emotions within him. Confused and needing direction, closed-off, quietly passionate. Must be okay with physical stunts. Looks young.
Steven (18-22) Black/African descent/multiracial High school senior, Hot headed, Reckless, Goofball, Party animal, Friendly, Athlete, Extrovert.
Lyle (23-27) Black A ghost who is energetic, flamboyant, but above all else gentle. Physical performance should be loud and expressive. Vocal performance should be enthused but kindly.
Husband (19-27) Black/African American descent/ multiracial Bonnie’s abusive husband. Entitled, insecure, manipulative, and violently homophobic. (requires stunt work – must be comfortable with throwing a stage punch, a dedicated stunt coordinator will be present for safety)
CATEGORY #3A) Two Male Teens (Age 15-18): see below
Malachi (15-18) African American Young boy who has developed a dependence on his only friend, Ali. He’s becoming suspicious over his recent behavior and lies and wishes for him to open up to him.
Ali (15-18) Mixed Race A young boy with a temper. Has pent up anger over parental neglect and bullying at school and uses it in violent ways. Despite hanging with Malachi, he’s always been closed off about his feelings.
CATEGORY #4) One Male Role (Late 30s): see below
Richard (Late 30s) African AmericanA cold and dispassionate father. Stressed by the anxieties and commitments of a single working parent. Unable to properly communicate with his son, Carter. Focused, emotionally unavailable.
CATEGORY #5) One Male Role, (Age 35-50): see below
Warren (35-50) All Ethnicities Tired, worn from working long hours. Pretty apathetic after years working at a funeral home.
CATEGORY #6) Two Male Roles, (Age 18-30): see below
Dan (18-22) Any Ethnicity Dan is good kid who hangs with the wrong crowd. Lacking friends or role models he gravitates to Clyde. Highly impressionable but otherwise genuine and sympathetic. He wants to prove his worth to others. Basic to Advanced Drum skills.
Demon (18-30) Any Ethnicity Evil, Charmer, Cunning, Ambitious, Otherworldly
CATEGORY #7) Two Male, (Late teens) Big built / bully type: see below
Ray (Late Teens) Any Ethnicity (Well Built Bully) Large young man with a sense of superiority. He’s essentially the leader of his friend group and somewhat popular at school. Has a bone to pick with Ali.
Michael (Late Teens) Any Ethnicity Well built, confident young man with a tendency to harass those he feels superior than.
CATEGORY #8) Female (Age 19-23): see below
Selina: (19-23) LatinX or Caucasian A driven painter with a warm and care free demeanor. Honest and deeply empathetic, especially to those she loves. Sometimes, she gives too much. Controlled and analytical in her exchanges and conflicts. Selina wants to move on from Roman as her art show approaches.
CATEGORY #9) Two Female Roles (Age 18-30): see below
Julia (24-30) Any Ethnicity A strong and focused talent manager who never stops moving. Fierce when pushed but always a constructive critic with magnetic energy. Julia needs to keep Roman focused on the last show of their tour.
Lola (18 – 22) Any Ethnicity Small and shy, Lola avoids most conflicts, a quiet observer. Cares for her friends but looks out for herself first. After failing to stand up for Selina, she now helps keep Roman at a distance.

Vikki (20s-30s) Caucasian Host. Great personality. Is liked by her audience. Similar host style to Oprah or Lorrie Greiner. Murdered due to verbal callout on air.

Veronica (Mid to late 20s) African American An open and perceptive English teacher. Tries to be there for her students. Carter’s lifeline and confidant. Probing, thoughtful, empathetic.
Alexandra (18-26) Black/African American descent/ multiracial College Student, Tomboy, Stoner,Rebellious, Ambivert, Lazy, Loyal Independent, Gloomy, Loner, Party animal, Slob, Creative.

Mother (35-55) Black/African American descent/ multiracial Caring, Family oriented, Neat, Professional, Proper, Snob,, Extrovert

Mrs. Calloway (40+) Any Ethnicity Sweet yet blunt older woman. Alway’s comes to the shop to purchase elaborate flower arrangements for all different occasions. Freddie’s favorite costumer in the flower shop.
CATEGORY #14) One Female Role (Age Mid to Late 30s): see below
Janice (Mid to Late 30s) African American Malachi’s mother Weary working mother who is hardly at home, but still makes time to check on her young boy.
CATEGORY #15) Female, Open to LGBTQ Age 19-30: see below
Bonnie (19-22) Any Ethnicity A bride lying to herself in order to survive. Isolated and lonely. Repressing her lesbianism. (requires stunt work – must comfortable with stabbing stunt work, as well as an intimate neck biting scene. A dedicated stunt and intimacy coordinator will be present for safety)
Amadora (20-30) Any Ethnicity A lesbian vampire who is actually hundreds of years old. Sees her younger self in Bonnie. Mysterious, glamorous, and dominant. (Must be comfortable with an intimate neck biting scene – a dedicated intimacy coordinator will be present for safety)
