Character breakdown –

Roy Holmes: A task driven prison warden in his forties/fifties. Bulky and strong, the warden overpowers all with his booming voice and stern personality.

Holmes instills reality into the mind of a prison officer looking to get one of the inmates off death row. Holmes explains to the officer that one cannot be innocent in the eyes of a man if he is guilty in the eyes of law. It is Holmes’ powerful speech that serves as a turning point in the story.
