Award-winning documentary filmmaker with small but mighty nonfiction production company is looking for a Marketing/ Distribution Assistant to help launch its latest feature documentary, about the first organized interracial civil rights protest in the US. This is a part-time position, and will start small (approximately 8 hours per week) and grow (up to 20 hours per week) as festival acceptances and screenings demand.

Among the Marketing and Distribution Assistant’s responsibilities will be planning stakeholder screenings and panels, managing social media for the film, keeping audience and contact databases, designing promotional material, creating time-coded transcripts, interfacing with industry professionals and partner organizations, community outreach, managing deliverables, and light editing.

The ideal candidate will be super organized and conscientious, responsible, comfortable tackling tasks that range from tedious to exciting, have a sense of humor, a commitment to detail and the film, desire to learn, and ability to prioritize and solve problems. Essential skills are spreadsheet management, Photoshop, Premiere, writing, web design, and social media. Preferred experience in graphic design, event planning, and film production.
