Project Description: Casting “Muscle Memory” a Columbia University Thesis short film.

Shoot Dates – August 23rd – August 27th

Plot: On the anniversary of Yahya’s death, Tariq dedicates a tap dance to his late father that trigger many memories from his childhood.

Roles:
TARIQ – Male, 30s, weary tap dancer who is a live, walking memoriam and living legacy of his father. (TAP EXPERIENCE REQUIRED)

RIQ – Male, 9 – 12, shy kid who aspires to be a dancer like his father, but can’t seem to break out of his shell (TAP EXPERIENCE NOT REQUIRED)

YAHYA – Male, 30s – 40s, loving single father who constantly aims to provide for his son by passing down his heritage and teaching him the ways of hoofing. (TAP EXPERIENCE NOT REQUIRED)

GIGI – Female, 70s, neighborly grandmother of Tariq. She is the sole support system for Tariq as an additional caretaker for his child.

ARIC – Male/Female, 6 months – 2 years old. Tariq’s infant child.
