Currently in pre-production on an independent, narrative-driven music video that I’m in search of a reliable DP for to help partly with development (such as overviewing the technical and logistical execution of the cinematography) prior to shooting.

Although there aren’t any established dates yet, I’m hoping to be fully prepared by February at the latest (the time frame partly varies on how soon I can begin going over the ground work with a DP). Despite not having any solid dates, I still have the script broken down into 7 days of shooting, where the production would mainly circulate around the South-Western New Jersey region. Everyday would be allocated to weekends, which is something an ideal candidate should have enough flexible availability over in general.

The setting is placed almost entirely outside in the woods, and although we’ll mostly have natural daylight to our advantage, an ideal candidate should be knowledgable of manipulating natural light with the usual brand of tools at their disposal (like flags for diffusion, reflection, and neg fill), as they should have some knowledge of general grip equipment.

Sadly since this is still under a very low budget, I’d only be able to compensate with $150 per diem plus gas fare. But as an AC myself, I’d doing a lot more than just directing to give you a hand (as there will also be a micro-crew consisting of a gaffer, key grip, and dedicated 1st AC). Although this technically isn’t a student production, it runs on very similar scale since most of the crew I have listed are still students or recent graduates, as I’m primarily the only person managing this passion project.

I know I haven’t gone too in-depth about the nature of the story itself or its scale, but if any of this sounds interesting in general, feel free to get in touch with me anytime as I should be able to get within a day at least.
