Seeking art assistants for a kids’ science TV show that will air its third season on a major cable network on a new streaming platform in 2020. Artists will assist with construction of custom paper-based and mixed-media crafts that will be used to demonstrate scientific topics to children.

We create both 2D and 3D props. Please let us know if you have an inclination to working in either 2D or 3D or if you are comfortable working in both 2D and 3D.

2D artists maybe be asked to draw, cut, and assemble layered paper props. Artists may also be asked to operate the Cricut cutting machine. A basic understanding of computers and Adobe Illustrator are useful. Artists need to balance attention to detail in clean construction with managing multiple tasks and deadlines. The ability to follow sketches and assembly instructions is important, but creative input is welcome.

3D artists will assist with the construction of props used to demonstrate various scientific principles. Paper and cardboard are our primary construction materials, supplemented by found objects and craft materials such as pipe cleaners, dowels, and beads.

The ability to take constructive feedback and adapt to the style of the show is crucial. We value good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members. Must be open to learning different construction techniques and problem solving in a myriad of crafty scenarios. Time management skills and the ability to work under deadlines are very important.

We are looking for artists experienced in paper crafting, model making, props making, and drawing. Please let us know your abilities and comfort level with Illustrator, Photoshop, and any other design programs.
