“Chest Candy”, an upcoming film from Robert X. Golphin Entertainment, delves into the mental health struggles within the veteran community. Native award-winning actor and director Robert X. Golphin aims to foster empathy, raise awareness, and highlight this critical issue, encouraging viewers to recognize and challenge their own unconscious biases, prejudices, and privilege.

The narrative short centers on an army veteran who finds himself trapped in a psychologically unstable anteroom, oscillating between self-disintegration and questioning his own viability amidst an exaggerated state of normalcy.

“The fragility of human life is starkly evident right now,” says Golphin. “Chest Candy” is a beacon of urgency and necessity. This isn’t just another movie; it’s a vital narrative begging to be told. Through raw emotion and unflinching honesty, I invite audiences to walk in the shoes of veterans and their loved ones, to feel their silence, their pain, and their resilience.”
The film features Golphin alongside local, national, and Broadway veteran talent. Consultants include Army and Navy veterans, as well as mental health professionals. Principal photography begins in June 2024 in Chester County, PA. To support the project and learn more, visit: https://www.robertxgolphin.com/.
