Logline: As if by a miracle, rudderless Maria makes a life-affirming choice.
This film discusses abortion, centering around Maria’s right to choose. Must be comfortable working with such subject matter.

Roles:
MARIA (woman, 20s) – Maria is a young, disillusioned adult. A child of an absent, single-mother, Maria is in arrested development. More than anything, Maria wants to pursue her autonomy, express freedom of choice, and to live uncomplicated.
JOE (man, 20s) – Joe is a young, white-collar, straight man who casually dates Maria. A child of a Christian minister, Joe was not exposed to the secular world. He even went to a Christian college. Joe enjoys how Maria is the opposite of himself and his family. Unbeknownst to Maria, Joe’s first sexual encounter was with her.
DR. SMITH (woman, 40s-60s) – Dr. Smith is an emergency physician and mother. Her Christian beliefs bleed into every aspect of her life. Dr. Smith does not make a decision without consulting Christ.
MR. SMITH (man, 40s-60s) – Mr. Smith is Dr. Smith’s husband, confidant, and caretaker. He is happily a “house-husband” and spends his time as a youth minister at his Christian parish.
WOMAN ROBBER (woman, 20s-30s) – Along with man robber, woman robber is a no nonsense thief. She’s quiet, but deadly. Composed, but will get animated when the task at hand doesn’t go how she planned.
MAN ROBBER (man, 20s-30s) – Along with woman robber, man robber is a no nonsense thief. He consistently comes up with outlandish situations in which to take advantage of others for financial or material gain.
GABRIEL (gender non-specific, 20s-30s) – Gabriel is a queer convenience store attendant. They’ve seen it all and then some.
