Jay is a 55-65 year old, who has worked the same job for 30+ years. He’s an editor by trade, who worked at a large dairy company, editing all manuals and other print copy that the company produced. But suddenly he finds himself unemployed, after being laid off unexpectedly. His trips to the unemployment office have been unsuccessful, and he hasn’t been able to find another job. In one interview he’s told that he’s simply just too old, and that the company is looking to hire younger, more technologically versed workers. Jay comes to the conclusion that his chances of finding a job that suit his educational qualifications are slim to none. The story follows Jay, his quest to prove that his job doesn’t define him, and his new relationship with a young weed dealer.
