Greater Philadelphia Film Office

Looking for actors interested in playing multiple, comedic characters for a creatively explorative piece with the working title ‘88.

The film centers around four old friends, one of which owns a 1988 Burgundy Chrysler Fifth Avenue. Being recent college graduates, what else is there to do but hotbox in it? From there, the film branches off into three separate stories, each telling a unique story about the life the car had before it was purchased by the current owner, who is telling these stories.

Actors interested can expect to do some improv!

20s-50s:
MARCH 23-24
Gabby/Jean – Gabby is a pragmatic journalist living in a corrupt city. Trying to get her story out there, she has nowhere else to turn but to sell her story to the infamous Don Carmine. Jean is a stone-cold card player, with a perfect poker face it can be almost impossible to tell what she’s thinking.

Don Carmine/Garret: Don Carmine is your classic, ruthless old school gangster. With a high-degree of self respect, he takes all matters with an intensity that would make even the most hardened criminals shudder. Garret is just at the card table to have a good time, he cares very little for his appearance and only shows up to experience the thrill of these high-stakes card games.

Goon 1/Mauricio – Goon 1 is your average meathead sideman, with little critical thinking skills, and a high degree of loyalty, Goon 1 is Don Carmine’s trusted right-hand man. Mauricio is your typical sleaze-ball card player, always itching to tip the scales in his favor. He cares very little for the woes of others, but he does care about his sweet Fifth Avenue, some may say that’s all he cares about.

MARCH 29
50s/60s:
Harold: A sweet, caring man who will go to any length for his sick wife. The two have been together for as long as they can remember and seeing her fills him with an indescribable warmth.

20s/30s:
Young Harold: The younger version of Harold, still every bit as sweet, but a bit more naive and hot headed, his first car was a 1988 Fifth Avenue, the car he met Eleanor in, and the car the two have filled with memories ever since.

Young Eleanor: The younger version of Eleanor, a bit more abrasive with a high degree of independence, she’s the type of girl who likes to do everything herself.

The younger versions of the couple may have production dates on March 28, we will keep you posted on when that decision is made!

Actors please send headshots and a brief description about yourself! Auditions will begin ASAP!
