Story synopsis: Della Can Fly! is a short sci-fi fantasy film, set in 2000 in West Philadelphia. With the help of his technologically advanced great-niece, a desperate old man proves a generational family myth to be true. Nostalgic and rooted in the importance of family preservation, the film explores and conceptualizes Virginia Hamilton’s black folklore, The People Can Fly!
Roles:
Family Extras : Looking for individuals straight out of the 60s, ages ranging from 10-70 to fill in for still image. Production for image will take place on Nov. 14,2023. Food and credit will be provided upon completion, participation is volunteer.
Funeral Goers: Present day, individuals in all black to represent funeral goers. Ages ranging from 13-70. Food and credit will be provided upon completion, participation is volunteer. Nov. 15,2023.
