Casting for 30 min Pilot episodes for Kick will be shooting for ten days in September. Kick is a sports drama about Naomi a 16-year-old soccer prodigy from Philadelphia. Who gained national attention following a record-breaking game. Naomi faces a new reality both on and off the pitch. As she starts to achieve her dreams, she is forced to confront the challenges of fame and deal with personal issues at home. All the while, trying to figure out who she is. Naomi faces the hardships of growing up as a young black athlete in the world of soccer.
Think King Richard meets Friday Night Lights and Swagger with but with Soccer.

Athletic. Confident, bright, and passionate. Naomi, a North Philly native, is a young soccer player. Despite being an underdog, she has gained national attention after breaking records in a game. With all eyes on her, Naomi faces the challenges of growing up as a young athlete in the competitive world of soccer.
Trey Carter:

Suave, street smart, and book smart, hot-headed with a good heart. Naomi’s older brother and manager. Trey is a former college athlete who fell from grace. He played college football for Duke University. But because of knocking out his coach he was expelled. Now managing his sister’s career. Her success is his second chance.
Regina Carter

Naomi’s grounded and insightful mother. Regina is supportive of her daughter but is more concerned with her living a normal life. But when tragedy strikes the family she has to step up in ways she never imagined.

Naomi’s ambitious, funny, and kind father. A working-class man who strives to provide for his family. He works hard to ensure his children succeed in life. He pushes them to be their best selves. He’s the cool dad.
Yasmin “Yaz” Gurrero:

Naomi’s teammate and closest friend. Yasmin is known for being bold, fun-loving, and always cracking jokes. Unlike Naomi, Yasmin comes from a dysfunctional family. Despite this, she manages to maintain a fun personality. Yasmin views soccer as a way to escape from her reality.
Angela Ife
Gender: Female
Age Range:17-18
Ethnicity: African
Angela is the captain of the Blue Angels Soccer Club. She is a respected, stoic, smart, and an elite-level athlete who hails from Nigeria. Angela is not only aiming to make a name for herself but also to make her family proud. She appears to be perfect in every aspect of the game. However, her perfectionism leads her to become rivals with Naomi as Angela is determined to prove that she is a better player.
Shawn Hill
Gender: Male
Age Range:17-18
Ethnicity: Black/ African American
Shawn is Naomi’s boyfriend. He is kind, goofy, nerdy, and lovable. Currently, he works at his father’s cafe while attending school, but he has dreams of becoming a photographer. He is the loudest person in the stands and supports Naomi, but he will have to deal with the changes that come with her fame.
Coach Kim Phillips:
Gender: Female
Age Range:30s-40s
Ethnicity: Any
Kim Phillips, former NWSL player, is now the Head Coach of the Blue Angels Soccer Club. She’s known for her strong character, dedication, and passion for the sport. Her students respect her for pushing them to reach their full potential with firm but fair coaching. Kim is highly respected for her commitment to excellence and dedication to her students on and off the field.
