Greater Philadelphia Film Office

We are looking for three actors (aged 18-27) to play college students in a student short. We plan to shoot in University City (around Drexel’s campus) the weekend of 2/3-2/4 or 2/10-2/11. These shooting days may last up to 10 hours, but food will be provided. All roles are credited.

This is a sophomore-level short film about an NYU film student named Trevor who, after losing valuable senior project footage to a dead hard drive, plots to sabotage his competitor’s drives. This is based loosely on a collection of true stories that come out of NYU every couple of years. We anticipate the final cut to be about 5-7 minutes long. See below for more information on the roles:

*ALL ARE WELCOME TO APPLY. NONE OF THESE ROLES ARE GENDER-DEPENDENT; NAME ADJUSTMENTS CAN BE MADE FOR FEMALE ACTORS (e.g. Alexander -> Alexandra)

TREVOR, 21, is a senior in the NYU film program. He has worked his entire life to get to this point, and is now considered among the top of his class as a writer/director. He now faces a make-or-break moment with the senior show quickly approaching, and his main competitor, Alexander, gaining speed. When Trevor’s hard drive breaks and sets his project back weeks, he must choose how to respond.

JUSTIN, 21, is a senior philosophy major at NYU, and Trevor’s best friend. The pair have been good pals since freshman year, and rarely disagree on anything. However, Justin faces a major dilemma when Trevor presents an ethically questionable plan to him.

ALEXANDER, 21, has worked tirelessly to keep up with Trevor’s growing success in the film program. He is a good kid with a lot of ambition and a lot of work ethic. He thinks he may have a shot to outperform Trevor during the senior film showcase, which could guarantee him independent funding for a post-grad project. To Alexander, Trevor is a role model who has inspired him to write and direct his own senior project.
