Job Description:
Expressway is currently seeking to fill the position of Fleet Coordinator at our East Falls Headquarters in Philadelphia. As a Fleet Coordinator, you should have a good understanding of the general maintenance needs of box trucks and cargo vans, as well as complete confidence in driving vehicles up to 26’ 26,000lbs GVWR in the city. As the Fleet Coordinator, you will be responsible for two main areas of work. First, you will be Expressway’s primary driver for weekly transfer orders between our branches as well as other deliveries and pickups from our sub-vendors, studio partners, and clients. You will also be responsible for working with the Shop Manager to coordinate all regular and emergency services and maintenance of the fleet. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Drive and understand the functionality of all of Expressway’s non-CDL vehicles, and may be asked to help perform basic maintenance on Expressway’s vehicles at times.
Maintenance, organization, and cleanliness of Expressway’s fleet of vehicles, parking lots, and rental facilities. All vehicles must be maintained both functionally and aesthetically.
Coordinating regular and emergency maintenance of Expressway’s fleet with local or roadside service providers in order to keep all vehicles in good working order.
Ensuring all of Expressway’s vehicles are up to date with registration, insurance, and other DOT regulations.
Act as the primary driver for deliveries, pick-ups, and weekly transfer orders between our HQ in Philadelphia and our offices in Upstate New York. Occasional overnight trips may be required.
Working closely with all department managers to ensure that deliveries and pickups are coordinated on time and accurately with customers.
Working closely with all departments to set availability expectations and help plan when additional drivers or vehicles are needed.
Troubleshoot basic vehicle issues in-house such as fluids, wipers, flat tires, etc.
Learn and understand how to facilitate Expressway’s fleet growth into a scaleable, DOT-compliant operation.
Customer Service: This includes speaking with customers, answering the shop’s phone, taking orders and adjustments, and meticulously building orders based on customers’ requests.
Trucks and Driving: Drive and understand the functionality of all of Expressway’s non-CDL vehicles, and may be asked to help perform basic maintenance on Expressway’s vehicles at times.
Qualifications:
Drivers License Required (CDL is a plus but not required)
Extremely proficient and confident driving vehicles up to 26’ box trucks.
Ability to occasionally work out of town overnight (lodging and per diem will be provided).
Ability to lift more than 25lbs
Excellent Communication Skills Required
Organizational and Multitasking Skills Required
Experience in Flex Rental Solutions is a Plus
Vehicle Mechanical and Maintenance Experience is a plus.
