Greater Philadelphia Film Office

My production group, Jarden Films, is looking for actors to fill several roles in an upcoming short film, Torments.

Auditions will be held over Zoom on Wednesday, February 7th. The shoot will take place in the Lehigh Valley over three days in May, all weekend dates.

Claire, Lead (Female or non-binary, late teens-mid 20s):
Claire is an emo girl in a single-parent, single child household. Her parent struggles with addiction and is not very involved in her life, so she has learned to be self-reliant. She is able to see things that others can’t and struggles with the decision of whether to help people in need at the cost of herself. She is very socially awkward, wears headphones most of the time, and fidgets constantly.

Insecurity, Lead (Male, 20-60):
The physical embodiment of Claire’s own insecurities. His relationship to her is similar to that of an older sibling: he constantly pesters her and puts her down, but he is also very protective of her. Must be comfortable wearing SFX makeup for the role.

Cashier, Supporting (Female, late teens-late 20s):
Works at a local movie theater. Hates her job and tends to put her worst face forward to the customers. Is generally bored and antisocial.

Grandmother, Supporting (Female, 50+):
Claire’s grandmother, who has passed before the start of the movie, but appears in flashbacks. Very sweet and caring, she wants Claire to be the best version of herself. Deeply religious and believes that everyone should put the best interests of others above their own.
