Free Reel Films is an experienced and creative production crew. We are looking for three actors for our next short film “Matthew”
“Matthew” is a short film about two friends close friends; Brian and Matthew. The two love to joke around and bust each other’s chops. Matthew tells Brian about his plans to finally meet a girl in person that he has been talking to on an online dating app. Brian warns Matthew to be careful when meeting random girls off the internet because they may be setting him up. Matthew insist that he’ll be fine and leaves to meet her. When Matthew arrives to meet her he is excited to see how beautiful she is but he has no idea that he’s in for more than he bargained for.
The Characters descriptions are as follows:
Matthew is a Caucasian male between the ages of 25-30. He’s a well-put together normal/average looking man. He borderlines the OCD which is obvious by the conditions of his apartment and demeanor. Matthew presents himself as both friendly and a bit naïve especially when dealing with his best friend Brian. The other side of Matthew speaks complete opposites of his displayed characteristics. Though still focused and meticulous, he shows signs of unkemptness and disorder. He’s cold and determined in what he wants.
Brian: is a Black male between the ages of 25-30. He’s a normal looking guy. Brian likes to joke around and he’s down to earth. Despite his relaxed and chill character, he’s very dedicated and caring to his family and friends. He would do anything that he’d sit fit to right a wrong done to someone he loves, even if it was an act of justified vengeance.
Brian’s sister is a Black girl between the age of 17-20. Brian loved her very much but was devastated when she was killed in an accident a few years ago. Now he doesn’t talk much about her but he keep pictures of her around.
This is an open casting call. No prior acting experience is necessary. Auditions will be held via Zoom on Tuesday June, 29th 2021 between 2pm and 7pm and Wednesday June 30th between 9am-6pm.
Production will begin on July 8th and 9th (we may also film on the 10th if necessary), in the Philadelphia area. Actors will be paid.
