Interested in joining the cast & crew of “Walking On”? We are looking for experienced basketball athletes and actors in the tri-state area. Ahead of the physical casting call on July 14th for early consideration we are accepting video submissions of monologues or dialogue scenes under 2 minutes. Project Synopsis: A young basketball player caught between the suburbs and inner city must fight an uphill battle against stigmas, family, and jealousy as she looks to try out for a Division I basketball team at her new school.

Looking For: (Ages are Flexible)

Sydney: 18-25 year old African-American female. She must have an athletic build and must be able to play basketball. She must have handles and be able to shoot and run for a reasonable amount of time. She is fun playful and a little shy. She cares deeply about her family and takes care of her responsibilities. All shades of skin are acceptable.

Norm: 18-25 year old African-American male. He must be able to play basketball be skilled with both the left and the right hands. He must be fit and capable of completing workouts. He is a pensive guy who can also light up a room with his smile. He is loyal, kind, and enjoys hanging out with his friends and a bit of friendly competition.

Lant: 18-25 year old African-American male. He must be able to play basketball his dribbling skills must be up to par. He is a boy with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder. He is hard-working and very loyal. He has a rough history but he does everything he can do to push himself into better things. He is funny and goofy and light hearted. He loves to tease and joke and will avert a serious conversation.

Mrs. Chandler: 50-80 year old Caucasian female must be able to move around pretty fluidly and be willing to work out. She has a quick tongue and a witty spirit. She seems on the outside like a hard old woman but deep inside she has soft spots. She is sensible and blunt and hardworking.

Tip: 18-25 year old African-American female. Must be able to play basketball and be a good three point shooter specifically. She is hardworking and seems to have a bit of a tortured soul. She strives for excellence but struggles with both jealousy and pride. She is very loyal to those she loves but it is a very hard thing for her to open up.

Tanisha: 18-25 year old African-American female. Must be able to play basketball. She must be a little on the taller thicker side like a forward. She is a passionate person but lazy. She is caught up in her potential but not actually doing the work in order to succeed. She wants others to do the work for her but is not willing to do what it takes but is willing to complain about her situation.

Chad: 30-40 year old Caucasian male must be in shape, in physical peak condition. He is a kind guy clean and well put together.

Mike: 30-40 year old Caucasian male. Must be in shape, in physical peak condition. He is a kind guy clean and well put together.

Coach Santiago: 30-40 year old African-American female must still be in a bit of shape. Coach Santiago is a strong woman she is persistent and smart. She cares for her players and is focused on her goals and her team. She is cunning and thoughtful and sees through facades and very blunt with her solutions.

Coach Monique: 27-35 year old African-American female. Must be very tall. She is a little pessimistic but is loyal and looks out for the good of the team. She is not a leader but a follower and she works hard.

Alex: 25-35 year old African-American male. He is from a rough neighborhood and it shows.

Bas: 30-40 year old African-American male. He is from a rough neighborhood and it shows.
