Logline: As an army vet unravels, his wife urgently confronts the imminent self-destruction jeopardizing their family. A narrative that promotes empathy, understanding, and dialogue around mental health, PTSD, and veteran reintegration.

Note: All roles, including Son/Daughter & Teen Son/Daughter, demand exceptional dramatic skills and emotional maturity to navigate the thematic depth of the story. This project features sensitive material.

Submission Requirements:
• Submit a dramatic reel and/or taped dramatic monologue (YouTube/Vimeo links preferred, but google drive/dropbox accepted)
• Include headshots and resume.
• Specify availability for the first two weekends in June 2024.

Additional Information:
• Submissions without the required materials will not be considered.
• Union and non-union talent may apply.
• Actors will be compensated and work a minimum of one day; some roles may require two days.
• Actors must be local, and able to self-report to set in the Greater Philadelphia/Delaware Valley region.
• Meals and craft services will be provided in addition to compensation.

Roles:

[ MOM ]
60’s, Black/African American. Classy, no-nonsense, and well-educated. Exudes authority and wisdom. A Phylicia Rashad/Anjunae Ellis/Regina King/Janet Hubert type vibe.

[ SON or DAUGHTER ]
Age 6+ (able to realistically portray age 6-9), Black/African American. Emotionally resonant and vulnerable. Channeling the energy of a younger Lonnie Chavis/Storm Reid. Ability to cry on cue is a plus.

[ TEEN SON or DAUGHTER ]
Age 18+ (able to realistically portray age 15-16), Black/African American. Emotionally resonant and vulnerable.

[ ARMY COMMANDER ]
Age 50-60, White. Militant, intimidating, and gruff. Think Clint Eastwood/J.K. Simmons/Neal McDonough.

NOTE: This project will be produced under a SAG-AFTRA MICRO BUDGET PROJECT AGREEMENT. The SAG-AFTRA MICRO BUDGET PROJECT AGREEMENT does not provide the standard protections, compensation and benefits available in other SAG-AFTRA contracts. With this agreement, most terms (including rate of pay) are subject to negotiation between Producer and Performer. This agreement does not create eligibility to join the Union or count toward SAG-AFTRA membership eligibility.
