We looking to cast 2 lead roles:
Vittoria, Lead (she/her): Age range is 35-56. She is the leader and owner of the mafia. A survivor of DV and a “black widow”. She is classy, loyal, and dangerous. Think Miranda from The Devil Wears Prada. Family is everything to her. Her brother is Victor and her niece is Jazz.

Victor, Lead (he/him): Age range is 35-56. Vittoria’s brother and Jazz’s estranged father. He is explosive, abusive, and possessive. Think Al Pacino from The Godfather.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Director: Brookelyn Morehead
Crew: Students of Rowan University’s film club on campus, Cinema Workshop

An all female mafia is on the rise in New York City, contract killing abusive men. It’s easy to go undetected when society believes the only role women can play in the mafia is the wife. The story follows the initiation of a new member, Jazz. She dreams of joining because the cause hits too close to home. However, when she struggles to make her bounty, her boss calls her in for a cup of tea.
If The Devil Wears Prada and The Sopranos had a baby, this would be it!

Mafia stories in our media have centered around men for years, but we are flipping that upside down.
When mafira bosses were sent to jail, their assets often went to the wives, resulting in 2.5 percent of mafia leaders in the world being women.
These women are more than the ring on their finger, they are just as (if not more) dangerous, manipulative, and have fascinating stories to tell.
Domestic violence also plays a significant role in the story. People often ask “why can’t you just leave?”. While there are a lot of factors for each individual, many victims often feel the same: to leave can be a death sentence. Hence, the mafia in this story is made. This story also dives into having a family member who is an abuser. The characters in this story navigate their relationships, and see the consequences of bystanderism. Audiences should leave the cinema reflecting and asking themselves “If I knew a family member was an abuser, would I say something?”.
