‘On Thin Ice’ is a junior-level, student-made short film about a young figure skater, named Yafit, trying to qualify for an elite team while juggling a toxic relationship and mild OCD. This job posting is for the role of Yafit’s skating Coach, Coach Peterson. Coach P used to be a great figure skater until they got injured, and became a coach. Coach P has a tough exterior, often yelling at Yafit to try and push her past her limits, however, Coach P has a soft spot on the inside that comes out at the end, because Coach P sees themselves in her. Coach Peterson is preferably older (30+), and could be any gender.
You will be in 3 scenes, all taking place at the ice rink (3100 Dutton Mill Rd, Aston, PA) from approximately 12:00pm-2:15pm, including the (paid for) lunch break in between scenes (Exact time tables may vary). You will not have to go on the actual ice at all for this, just yelling from the sides. However, if you happen to have your own skates and are comfortable going on the ice for this, that would be amazing!
