CASTING BREAKDOWN

Meryl (40-42) Race: Caucasian
Malcolm’s mother who has quite the following on social media. She truly only wishes the best for her son but has felt a major shift in their relationship over the past few months and hasn’t been able to figure out why he’s changed. As Malcolm was growing up she always wanted to “capture every moment” so it could live on forever, not knowing her son would hold this against her in the future

Darron (43-45) Race: African American
Malcolm’s father who cares a lot about his son. He’s stuck in a hard place as he understands his wife’s frustrations with their son shutting them out but also feels for Malcolm and tries to give him his space without asking him what happened to him.

Young Boy (10-12) Race: Multiracial (Caucasian and African American)
Young boy is the little boy who appears during Malcolm’s trip. It’s clear these two know each other in some way as they go back and forth throughout the film with big brother/ little brother type arguments.
