Greater Philadelphia Film Office

Shooting dates: November 11th, 17th, and 18th 2023.

Film synopsis:
A lonely corn farmer feels abandoned when his son leaves for college, but finds odd companionship in his scarecrow.

Character info:
The scarecrow is the catalyst of the story when he unexplainably shows up alive in the farmers kitchen. The farmer feels vulnerable after receiving a phone call from his son, telling him he won’t be able to make it home for the farmer’s birthday. The scarecrow is neither threatening nor friendly. He just kind of exists, think of Edward Scissorhands or Ada from Lamb. This innocent helplessness tugs on the farmer’s heart strings and he gradually takes care of him.

This is a paid short film. Shooting locations are out of the city, meals and transportation will be provided. $150 flat rate. Must be able to wear contacts for prolonged periods of time while filming.
