CASTING MALE FOR ROLE OF “DAVE” (Age 22-35)
Dave is clean-cut on the surface. He has a good heart but it’s also very guarded. He has severe trust issues and is quick tempered. Dave struggles to manage his emotions so instead of being able to explain that he’s hurting or jealous, everything tends to come out as anger or judgement. He’s highly intelligent and analytical. Deep down he has self-image issues. He can be impulsive and self-destructive. Only people closest to him would know these things though, as an outside perspective would see someone charismatic, intelligent, logical and overall happy.
CASTING FEMALE FOR ROLE OF “ASHLEY” (Age 20-28)
Ashley is an edgy mid-twenties girl. She’s empathetic and kind-hearted by nature but also fights for what she believes in. She’s stubborn with a heart of gold. She’s a self-taught musician and plays solely for the love of art and pure enjoyment of playing. She’s loving, caring, friendly, and spiritual. Always sees the best in people.
HOW TO BE HUMAN:
This film follows the trials and tribulations of six different characters from various stages of their lives. It’s a raw visual representation of the pain each one of us feels yet perseveres through. This story takes the audience through the nostalgia of young love and heartbreak, a tumultuous and toxic yet passionate relationship, caring for a sick loved one, losing friends due to old age, miscarrying a potential child, and harboring the courage to leave an unfulfilling marriage. It’s a reminder that everyone has a story and has overcome some kind of mental, physical or emotional pain which connects all of us and teaches us how to be human.
