Job Description: Seeking a commanding, physically imposing actor to portray Kalfou, a powerful and dangerous spiritual figure rooted in Haitian Vodou tradition. Kalfou is not simply evil—he is a gatekeeper of chaos, misdirection, and crossroads energy. He exists in opposition to order, embodying night, unpredictability, and the hidden paths people fear to walk. This portrayal is fictionalized for a noir narrative, but we aim to approach the role with respect and awareness of its cultural roots.

In this film, Kalfou manifests as a haunting, human-like presence who tempts a transmasculine jazz saxophonist at their most vulnerable moment. He is calculated, emotionally detached, and deeply unsettling—his stillness is just as threatening as his movement. He does not raise his voice; his power lies in control, inevitability, and psychological pressure.

Character Traits:
Intimidating, grounded presence
Minimal but intentional movement
Emotionally controlled, almost inhuman composure
Ability to convey menace through silence and physicality
Feels ancient, knowing, and inevitable

Black male actor
Preferably 35–60 years old
Tall and physically commanding build preferred
Strong facial features that carry intensity on camera

Performance Notes:
This character will be visually stylized, including full-body dark/tar-like paint design. Comfort with heavy makeup and experimental visual aesthetics is required. Movement and physical storytelling will be key components of the performance.
