A new five-part PBS documentary series trains its cameras on Bucks County’s political fault lines, and the personal relationships caught in the middle of them, according to WHYY’s Studio 2. Bucks County, USA is in GPFO’s fiscal sponsorship program.

Celebrating screenwriters nationwide, the competition seeks compelling feature-length and original TV pilot scripts that feature the Greater Philadelphia region as a focal point or shootable setting. This year, the competition features over $20,000 in cash prizes, alongside direct industry exposure and detailed feedback opportunities for participating writers.

Harrisburg, PA – Today, Pennsylvania Film Commissioner Gino Anthony Pesi announced the Pennsylvania Film Office has awarded $117 million through the Film Production Tax Credit Programto a record 59 projects, estimated to inject a total of $1.1 billion into the economy in 35 counties across the Commonwealth. These investments will also generate $68.7 million in state and local tax revenue and create or support more than 11,700 jobs.

The annual competition seeks feature length screenplays OR original TV pilot length screenplays from all genres. Scripts are judged on their overall quality AND must speak to their “shootability” in the Greater Philadelphia region. Screenwriters from all around the country are welcome to enter. All finalists are given practical and implementable notes from the judging panel to improve the quality of the screenplay AND are invited to an awards reception in September.

The region’s packed calendar of big-ticket sporting events and America’s 250th birthday programming is expected to boost film production here this year, Erin Wagner, co-executive director of the Greater Philadelphia Film Office, tells Axios.
