Job Description: Beating Around Bush is a short film currently in the pre-production phase. We’ve recently been selected for the First Act Script Lab at the Centre Film Festival in State College, PA on November 12th from 11am-2pm. We’re currently seeking cast members for non-paid roles to do a table reading at the event. In order to be casted, you MUST be able to attend the event.

Here are the roles we’re looking for:

President Bush: MALE late 40s-50s. SUPPORTING. 43rd President of the United States of America. Has a Texas charm with a smile fit for a politician. He doesn’t know what’s coming, but right now he reads to Kindergarteners in a Sarasota, Florida classroom.

Andy Card: MALE, late 50s-60s. White House Chief of Staff during the Bush Administration. Works behind the scenes, but willing to do the right thing even when it’s hard.

Ms. Davis: FEMALE, 40s-50s. Black. Teacher at an elementary school who leads with tough love, and clear direction.

Helen Van Summerin: FEMALE, 20s-30s. LEAD. A Junior-level reporter who’s doing the grunt work to support her colleagues. Insecure.

Richard Anderson: MALE 40s-60s. LEAD. A Senior-level reporter who calls the shots. Knows a story when he sees one.

Benson: MALE 20s-40s. SUPPORTING. A mid level reporter who likes being behind the scenes, but has earned his keep. Somewhat nerdy, but kind.

Extras: ONE PERSON PLAYING EXTRAS ROLES WHICH INCLUDES:
