| Job Description: | Coach Age range-55-60 Caring but stern when need to bend to get his point across especially when it comes to coaching. Loving and supporting father and husband of thirty years to his wife Linda. He is well liked by students and faculty alike because he is a man of values and can admit when he is wrong. He has a private side when it comes to his family.They have a transgender son named Robbie and although Coach,at first blamed himself for this he slowly came to see that this is who Robbie is and he supported him 100 % but took his own ” Coming Out” process in a different way for this to happen.He also hides a deep insecurity that he did not raise Robbie correctly and struggled with that in the early days when Robbie would espouse some subtle femine qualities and philosophies but they worked that out before his gender reassignment and now gives Robbie his total acceptance. This insecurity is tested several times during the story and it is his last phase of his total coming out process when he asks Robbie to speak for him putting his new post retirement job in jeopardy. This is where his values and who he truly is gets tested and this is where we see Coach becoming one with himself |
