Job Description: | I’m a student at Drexel University working on my senior thesis in documentary film. My film presents short glimpses into the lives of strangers (their living spaces, neighborhoods, routines, etc.) while interview audio plays overhead. All participants are anonymous, I don’t show anyone’s face, and I use pseudonyms for everyone. The goal is to have a frank conversation, be vulnerable, and get at the root of what’s on your mind. If you feel like you have a story to share, I would love to speak with you (I’m not looking for anything crazy, sometimes mundanity is better).
I am pretty far along into filming, but I’m finding that my film is lacking representation in some areas, specifically when it comes to women of color in mid-late adulthood. I’ve also exhausted pretty much every outreach method I have aside from film.org. I know this isn’t a traditional casting call, but if you are willing to step away from acting and have a real, introspective conversation with me, I would greatly appreciate it! I know this is a bit of an unorthodox project and it can require some people to step out of their comfort zone. I’m happy to answer any questions or clarify anything if you’re interested. I would be looking to shoot within the next two weeks. |
