We are casting for a heartfelt short film titled “Abuela’s Recipe”, a 5–10 minute project that will be shot in Philadelphia, PA.

Shoot Dates:
One day only – May 17 or May 18, 2025
Time Commitment: 8–12 hours

Role:
Sofia Rivera
* Latina woman, age range 21–24
* Open to all Latin American backgrounds
* Basic Spanish Language Skills preferred

Description: Sofia Rivera, a young Puerto Rican woman, sets out to make a housewarming dinner using her late Abuela’s (grandmother’s) cherished recipes. But when she realizes she must translate the handwritten Spanish instructions without the help of technology, the experience takes an unexpected turn—leading her to reconnect with her roots in a deeply personal way. This role calls for an actress who can embody both vulnerability and determination in a heartfelt, emotional journey of self-discovery.

Key Traits:
* Emotionally expressive with a strong sense of determination
* Comfortable with both English and Spanish dialogue
* Ability to convey a sense of nostalgia and vulnerability
* Comfortable with cooking and Kitchen utensils
* Comfortable getting messy
* Great at working with others and willing to learn with a team.

Compensation:
This is a VOLUNTEER (unpaid) project. A copy for the final product will be provided. Great for building your experience, skills and reel without big budget pressure.
