Post-Production Sound Editor & Mixer Needed for Feature Film – “MAN FREED”
Location: Greater Philadelphia / South Jersey Area (Remote-Friendly with Local Preference)
Compensation: Paid (Please provide detailed quote)
We are seeking a Post-Production Sound Editor & Mixer to join the finishing team for MAN FREED — a 90-minute, dialogue-driven art-house feature film inspired by Lord Byron’s “Manfred.” This is a poetic, metaphysical drama produced by Sage & Taurus, an independent production company based in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Filmed across New Jersey and Philadelphia, MAN FREED is a historical fiction set in the early 19th century. It blends Romanticism with the metaphysical, following a reclusive aristocrat haunted by guilt and loss as he confronts the unseen forces of his own conscience. The film features lush imagery, dramatic performances, and a dense, atmospheric soundscape designed to immerse audiences in both the physical and psychological journey of its protagonist.
We’re now entering the final stage of post-production and are looking for a sound professional (or small sound team) to handle the following:
Dialogue Edit:
-Clean-up, leveling, and restoration of production audio
-Removal of unwanted noise, clicks, pops, hums, and artifacts
-Seamless editing and transitions for consistent tone and clarity
Sound Design:
-Creation and integration of ambient soundscapes and textures (forests, cliffs, interiors, etc.)
-Design of supernatural and metaphysical sound elements to enhance key sequences
-Atmospheric room tones and environmental layers to reinforce setting and emotion
Final Mix (Stereo & Surround needed):
-Balance dialogue, music, and effects into a cohesive mix
-Prepare deliverables for festival and theatrical submission (stereo master, stems if required)
-Ensure professional-level loudness, clarity, and spatial balance
