Job Description:
SOME Positions Paid
Shooting January 16-19 in Wayne, PA
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Casting “Unleavened”, during a Passover seder, three generations of Jewish women, Ruth, the daughter of Holocaust survivors, her daughter Miriam, and Miriam’s freethinking daughter Leah, grapple with intergenerational trauma which affects each of them differently and causes tension within the family. As the seder progresses, unspoken feelings manifest in a variety of supernatural elements mirroring the story of Passover and Jewish mysticism.
Roles:
Samuel (65-90) Gentle. Leah’s grandfather, kind and peaceful and would love for this year’s passover dinner to go without any conflict.
Production actively encourages Jewish talent to apply.
Ruth (65-90) Overbearing. Loves her family deeply, but her caring often blurs into controlling, which makes it hard for her to understand her granddaughter Leah’s path of self discovery, as she is still weighed down by generational trauma.
Production actively encourages Jewish talent to apply.
David (30-50) Laid-back. Leah’s uncle, very relaxed and kind to everyone.
Production actively encourages Jewish talent to apply.
