Job Description: | Casting for an absurd short film about a boy who turns into a tree, and the neighbors who work together to try to help. Shoots Aug. 19 in Philadelphia with a backup rain date Aug. 26.

Roles: ELLEN (Leading, 25-60) – Ellen craves deeper connection with her neighbors, and she’s willing to go the extra mile to help them–even if her help isn’t always appreciated. Flat fee: $125 CYNICAL WOMAN (Supporting, 35-65) – Always watching out for her neighbors because she knows there’s danger out there. She’ll fight for what’s right. Flat fee: $125 THE MOTHER (Supporting, 35-45) – Her boy has unexpectedly turned into a tree. She can see the resemblance of him in the patterns of the tree bark. Flat fee: $125 THE FATHER (Supporting, 35-50) – His boy just unexpectedly transformed into a tree. He’s a man of action: he knows just who to call to set things right. Flat fee: $125 QUIET NEIGHBOR (Supporting, 18-35) – Bookish and outdoorsy. Can identify types of trees. Flat fee: $125 Other Neighbors (Background extras, all ages) – Neighbors who have just seen a boy transform into a tree, and hang around to see if anyone is able to change him back. Flat fee: $50 |
