AUDITION NOTICE: “My Best Friend Revenge”
Written & Directed by Kathilia Vazquez
Genre: Dramedy / Female Friendship / Coming-of-Age Chaos
Shooting: Feb 6th – 8th
Logline:
When Jo and her best friend Niah drunkenly break into their ex-friend Hope’s apartment for “revenge,” what starts as a petty heist spirals into confessions, and the bittersweet truth about growing up and growing apart.
Character Breakdowns
JO (Lead, early–mid 20s)
A passionate, messy dreamer whose emotions always run a little too hot. She’s the kind of friend who will hype you up and accidentally get you arrested. Jo is loud, funny, dramatic, and deeply loyal even when her loyalty comes out sideways.
NIAH (Lead, early–mid 20s)
Quick-witted, sarcastic, and effortlessly cool. Niah is the realist of the trio or at least she pretends to be until things get emotional. She’s the first to call out Jo’s impulsiveness, but she’s also the first to laugh with her. Beneath the humor, she’s quietly sentimental about her friendships.
HOPE (Supporting Lead, early–mid 20s)
Once the responsible one of the group, now the unexpected source of chaos. Hope is career-driven but soft, torn between ambition and nostalgia. She’s hiding her own secret job across the country and when it all comes out, she’s forced to face the messy love of her found family.
BRADLEY (Supporting, 20s–30s)
Hope’s unsuspecting hookup who walks into the most emotionally charged girls’ night of his life. Equal parts confused and amused, Bradley’s brief appearance caps the story with levity and timing gold.
