Logline
A young artist isolated in the pursuit of his dreams confronts his internal guilt through fading photographs and home movies, discovering that memory when finally faced can bridge the distance between generations
Jack (lead) (AGE: 25 – 35)
Jack is our lead character. An artist locked into the pursuit of his dreams, aspirations and goals. But at what cost? Isolated by his own goals Jack has forgotten and disregarded the people who have made him who he is. Jack is a regular guy but like regular people he’s not perfect. He is a workaholic and he has disregarded his grandfather leaving him to be consumed by loneliness and the longing for times now past. Jack does not do this intentionally; it’s just a shortcoming. one that he’s aware of and knows he need to change as he does not have forever with his grandparent
Grandparent (supporting) (AGE: 70 – 95)
The Grandparent of Jack, this character was once an active part of Jack’s life teaching, guiding and molding Jack into the person he is today. As Jack has gotten older more and more he has become busy with his own life leaving this grandparent to the way side. Time and life continue on without this character leaving them to face the aging and passing of time alone creating a deep sense of loneliness and nostalgia for Jack’s youth.
Young Jack (supporting) (AGE: 4 – 10)
This character is the younger version of our lead. Quite the antithesis of who he now has become. Young Jack is as carefree as any child spending his days running, playing and learning hand in hand with his idol and role model his beloved grandparent. This child is the embodiment of the golden age childhood, a free and energetic spirit this child is exactly that. |
