Mia is a strong, complex, and emotionally layered character. She’s facing a personal crisis yet retains moments of wit and humanity. She is not a stereotype or plot device — she is the heart of the film.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Sweetest Silence is a 7–8 minute short blending heartfelt drama with understated humor. It has already been recognized as a semi-finalist at HollyShorts and a quarter-finalist at PAGE.

The filmmaker’s past work has:

Won multiple Best Comedy Short awards (Hollywood Just4Shorts, Couch Film Festival, Gothamite Monthly)
Screened at a variety of U.S. and international film festivals
We are now in the casting exploration phase for Mia. We will be working closely with ASL professionals to ensure authenticity and respectful representation.

NOTES
This is early-stage outreach to assess casting feasibility before committing to production.
While the director is not yet fluent in ASL, he is actively learning and committed to better engaging with cast through the language. We will also have ASL professionals involved to support communication and authenticity on set.
