Description | This is a sophomore-level short film, directed by a festival-awarded Romanian film director, a mocking-gangster-movies short, about a group of friends who run illegal business in Drexel’s campus, but struggle to pass their classes. MIKE is 20 and is the leader of the band. He came up with the idea of stealing laptops from students and sell them online, and reinvest the money in crypto and other assets. He is a computer science major but hates technology, he struggles with coursework and comes up with different plans to change an F before his parents see the grade. He acts cool, he is smart and creative. CAL is a 21 year old business student who never sold anything in his life, the oldest in the group, but not mature at all. He supports Mike in whatever he does, but sometimes he tends to be skeptical about the plans he has. RAY is 20 and a law student. He is the yapper, screams most of the time and fight regularly with Mike. He doubts everything. If the business has problems, he saves it. Most importantly, Ray is a virgin. TOM is 20 and he is Ray’s adopted brother. He is a math major and guess what? He doesn’t know math at all. He is the funny guy, people make fun of him all of the time, even if he doesn’t try to be funny. NERDY is 19, the genius. All he does is study and work. The hacker and coder of the company. Extras will be needed also, people working at Mike’s company, “13th floor & comp.” Some will be special extras, having close ups or lines. The shootings will take place at 3175 JFK Blvd, Philadelphia, PA, 19104 and in University City, Drexel University, mostly interiors. The short film will be shot on February 28th, March 1st and 2nd, around 6 hours everyday and a lunch break. Rehearsals will take place the weeks prior, February 14-16/21-23. Actors will get credited on screen and on platforms such as Letterboxd. If the short is admitted into film festivals, actors can be invited to accompany the team to the screenings. |
