DESCRIPTION: Experimental body horror short film. A dystopian world where healthcare is influenced by a cult-figure, citizens have become devout to Saul Mercer’s words. Punishment is cast on anyone who does not fit the guidelines of a perfect and holy body.

SHOOT DATES: Tuesdays, March 10, March 17th, March 23 and a hold for March 30th (Auditions by Invitation Only)

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:

Girl (Lead role) – A young woman suffering from a long-term chronic illness loses trust in the world around her while searching for a cure.
Casting requirements: Woman of color, in her mid-20’s and thin, 5’2 – 5’5” – petite, must be comfortable with body horror, fake blood, wielding a hammer and physical acting.

Saul Mercer (Lead Role) – A self proclaimed medical guru has infiltrated every space with his extremist treatments and views. Thinks himself as a god, but really is a cult-leader.
Casting requirements: White presenting, 40 – 60 years old, deep voice, charismatic, confident, really good diction, comfortable with speech-making.

Friend (Supporting Role) – The Girl’s best friend, a white woman in her mid 20’s, Barbie-type, fit and healthy.

Doctor (Supporting Role) – Forceful in the indoctrination of The Girl, the doctor is stern and makes her feel guilty for her pain. Male, 30-45 years old, any race, clean shaven.

Specialist (Supporting Role) – Specializes in hypnotic therapy, visually shown as an obsessed and dedicated follower of Saul Mercer. Male, 30-45 years old, must be over 5’7”, any race, clean shaven.

Old Man (Supporting Role) – Male, 60-80 years old, 5’2” – 5’5”, any race, stern, grumpy, aggressive.

Driver M (Supporting Role) – Male, mid-twenties – mid 30’s, thin, any race. Speaking Role.
Driver F (Supporting Role) – Female, mid-twenties – mid 30’s, slightly overweight, any race.

Nurse (Extra) – Non speaking role; Women of color, thin, Barbie-type, fit and healthy.
