PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
slow, black-and-white magical realist short driven by performance and visual control. This is a minimal, atmosphere-heavy piece that relies on actors who can hold silence, sustain tension, and work with subtle emotional shifts. Not a dialogue-driven project—performance is internal, precise, and restrained.
CASTING
ADRIAN (Supporting) — Male, early–mid 20s [CASTING ASAP]
Masculine-presenting, grounded, and naturally confident. Strong physical presence—someone who draws attention without effort. Adrian is perceptive, emotionally direct, and unafraid of intimacy.
Actor must be comfortable with a same-sex kiss and vulnerable, close-range dialogue scenes. Strong on-screen chemistry and presence are essential. This role is being cast urgently.
HAYDEN (Lead) — Male, mid-20s
Lean, slightly worn, with a quiet intensity. Someone who feels both present and distant at the same time. Hayden is emotionally restrained, intelligent, and deeply internal, with moments of raw vulnerability breaking through. This role requires strong subtle acting and comfort carrying long, silent beats. The performance is minimal but demanding—much of the film lives in his face and physical presence.
PROFESSOR (Supporting) — 40s–60s, any gender
Open to all looks. Presence matters more than appearance. Calm, observant, and deeply grounded. Someone whose stillness carries weight. Minimal dialogue, but significant emotional presence.
FRIEND 1 — Any gender, mid-20s
Casual, socially fluid, and comfortable in their environment. The kind of person who fills silence easily. Perceptive but chooses not to push too hard.
FRIEND 2 — Any gender, mid-20s
Grounded, slightly more serious energy. Observant and attentive. Notices when something is off but ultimately holds back. Strong listening required.
EXTRAS — All genders, 18+
All body types, looks, and backgrounds encouraged. Students, pedestrians, and background performers for campus and city scenes. Looking for natural, unforced presence on camera.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
