| We are seeking a skilled VFX artist for object removal, cleanup, and compositing work on an independent narrative feature film currently in post-production.
This is immediate work with a short turnaround, as we are actively moving into color and final post and need to maintain schedule with other collaborators.
Scope of Work-
The majority of work involves object removal and period cleanup, along with select compositing and effects shots.
1. Object Removal / Cleanup (Primary Scope)
Removal of modern elements for period accuracy, including:
Light switches, outlets, and electrical fixtures
Visible wiring, clips, and practical equipment
Background artifacts (cars, environmental inconsistencies, etc.)
Paint-outs and clean plate reconstruction
Rotoscoping and tracking as needed
Seamless integration with original plate (no visible artifacts)
2. Fire & Light Effects (Selective Shots)
Enhancing and integrating fireplace and flame elements, including:
Realistic fire behavior and continuity
Ember glow and environmental light spill
Integration into scene lighting and grain
Subtle flame additions (candles / lanterns)
Light interaction on surrounding environment and subjects
3. Compositing / Effect Shots (Limited Scope)
One multi-arm compositing effect on a character
Plate footage and references will be provided
Requires clean compositing, tracking, and natural integration
One light-based transformation effect:
Glow interaction
Natural blending into scene lighting and texture
Technical Expectations-
Strong experience in:
Object removal / paint-outs
Rotoscoping and tracking
Clean plate reconstruction
Ability to match:
Film grain and texture
Natural lighting and color
Deliver work with no visible compositing seams
Workflow Notes-
Work may involve:
Refining partially completed VFX shots
OR rebuilding shots from original plates
All assets, references, and notes will be provided
Artist should be comfortable working efficiently within an existing edit
Timeline-
Immediate start
Initial turnaround expected within a few days per batch of shots
Additional shots may follow depending on performance and fit
Compensation-
Paid (rate negotiable based on scope and experience)
Prefer per-shot or batch pricing where applicable
