Unhinged Films is seeking a talented and creative Makeup Artist to join the team for our upcoming horror film, The Underpass. We are looking for someone with a strong eye for detail and experience creating realistic, unsettling, and cinematic makeup effects for horror storytelling.

The ideal candidate has experience with special effects makeup, prosthetics, wounds, blood effects, aging makeup, creature designs, and continuity makeup. This is an opportunity to collaborate with a passionate filmmaking team and help bring the terrifying world of The Underpass to life.

Responsibilities:

Design and execute horror makeup looks based on the film’s creative direction
Create realistic injuries, bruises, wounds, blood effects, and special effects makeup
Apply beauty, character, and corrective makeup as needed
Maintain makeup continuity throughout production
Collaborate with the director, producers, costume department, and actors
Prepare and manage makeup supplies, tools, and materials
Work efficiently in a fast-paced film production environment

Qualifications:
Previous experience as a makeup artist in film, television, theater, or similar productions
Experience with horror, thriller, or special effects makeup preferred
Strong knowledge of prosthetics, blood effects, and practical effects makeup
Ability to work professionally with actors and production crew
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain continuity
Portfolio or examples of previous work required

Preferred Experience:

Horror film makeup
SFX makeup and prosthetic application
Creature/monster design
On-set makeup experience
Independent film production experience
