Compensation: Volunteer
Job Category: Cast
Project Name: The Last Afternoon

Job Description: Adults (18+) of all ethnicities, genders, body types, appearances, and abilities are encouraged to submit. We especially welcome performers of Caribbean heritage, including Afro-Caribbean and Latino communities. Spanish and Haitian Creole speakers are a plus but are not required. No acting experience is necessary. Background performers will portray members of a neighborhood community inside and around a Caribbean corner store. Some performers may be asked to react to an unexpected event, walk through the scene, converse naturally, or participate in simple crowd movement. Authenticity, warmth, and a willingness to collaborate are more important than prior experience.
Required Media: Headshot/Photo

Although this is an unpaid production, all selected performers will receive meals and craft services during filming, on-screen credit, and IMDb credit (where applicable). The completed film is intended for submission to national and international film festivals and will be featured across the project’s promotional and social media channels.

Filming takes place inside El Colmado del Futuro, a life-size immersive installation currently being piloted at Cherry Street Pier in Philadelphia. The Last Afternoon expands this world cinematically as part of the larger universe, offering performers the opportunity to contribute to an ambitious multidisciplinary project spanning film and immersive storytelling.

Filming will take place on one day between July 18–24, 2026 (exact date TBD) in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood. A brief blocking rehearsal will take place immediately before filming on the same day. Background performers should plan to be available for approximately 2–4 hours. Additional details, including call times and wardrobe guidance, will be provided upon casting.
