Job Description: We are seeking a highly organized, technically skilled Assistant Editor to support our editorial and post-production team starting immediately through November 3, 2026. This is a hands-on
role requiring strong media management and technical skills, flexibility, and the ability to work
across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and organize media and projects for editorial and post-production.
• Ingest, transcode, create proxies and mezzanine files, caption and encode deliverables.
• Manage media, project files, storage, backups, and archives.
• Support editors with project setup, media organization, syncing, relinking, turnovers,
exports, and versioning.
• Assist with file transfers, QC, deliveries, and general post-production workflow.
• Provide basic machine room and technical support, including media movement, storage
management, and troubleshooting.
• Help maintain edit systems, drives, media inventory, and general technical operations.
• Work closely with Producers, Editors, Post Supervisors, and finishing teams to keep
projects moving efficiently.
Skills & Qualifications
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After
Effects, Photoshop, and Adobe Media Encoder.
• Experience with DaVinci Resolve, particularly media management, transcoding, proxy
workflows, and project organization.
• Strong understanding of codecs, frame rates, resolutions, file formats, encoding,
transcoding, and mezzanine workflows.
• Experience with media management, shared storage, file transfers, backups, and
archiving.
• Familiarity with professional post-production workflows from ingest through final
delivery.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort providing hands-on technical and machine
room support.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Must be flexible and willing to jump between editorial support, media management,
technical tasks, and general post-production needs.
• Must be local to the Philadelphia area and able to work on-site as needed. Must
have flexibility to work outside of normal business hours. OT will sometimes be
required.
