Event Details

Interested in learning about the new frontier in story telling? Then please join me on Tuesday June 27th at the McCowan Memorial Library in Pitman, NJ. From 7:00-7:30pm, you can network with your fellow screenwriters and filmmakers. Then at 7:30pm, the craft lecture will begin on Virtual Reality- VR and 360 degree videos.

For less than $20, you can pick up a Google Cardboard headset and view a variety of VR apps and 360 degree videos on your smart phone. But maybe you want to do more than just explore VR content, perhaps you are interested in creating it? For around $300, you can invest in a Richo Theta Spherical Digital Camera and shoot and edit 360 videos, dipping your toe into the VR pool and exploring the next story telling frontier.

Bring your smartphones (and your stand alone VR headsets if you have them). In this demonstration, we will shoot, edit, and watch a 360 degree video. After the lecture, there will be time for Q&A.

(Tuesday) 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Greater Philadelphia Film Office (GPFO) is a "film commission" representing southeastern Pennsylvania that officially serves the counties of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia.

We are a member of the Association of Film Commissions International (AFCI). GPFO, first established in 1985 as a part of Philadelphia city government, continues to reside within city offices.

In 1992, we became a regional economic development agency, incorporating in 2000 as the Greater Philadelphia Film Office, a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation.
