We invite you to join us and our friends at Art-Reach for a very special screening of the documentary film,“I AM,” at the Friends Center on Thursday, February 22nd, from 10 am – 12 pm. The film follows the journey of six students from St. Katherine’s Special Education School as they collaborate with eight dancers from Pennsylvania Ballet’s Second Company to create an original performance piece called “I AM.” You can watch the trailer of the powerful film on the I AM website.
Following the film, there will be a discussion about the importance of inclusion and accessibility within the arts, featuring Jessica Kilpatrick, the project’s choreographer, and Sarah Cooper, the Pennsylvania Ballet’s Director of Community Engagement.
To join us for this free screening and discussion at the Friends Center at 1501 Cherry Street, please register on EventBrite.
The Cultural Alliance is proud to partner with Art-Reach on this event, which is part of our continued effort to create more programming that focuses on diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility. To learn more about the Cultural Alliance’s DEI efforts, go to www.philaculture.org/dei.
